ADP Dealer Services is seeking a senior Product Owner (aka Product Manager) who will define and guide the building of ADP Dealer Services' analytics products. Reporting directly to the VP of Global BI & Data Science the Product Owner will be responsible for ADP Dealer Services portfolio of analytic products, data warehouse and reporting within the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence.
The successful candidate will be able to think strategically about business issues and be able to prioritize product backlog based on business needs and priorities. The successful candidate will have a strong command of data warehousing, data mining, analytics and data visualization.
Although this is an Individual Contributor role today the successful candidate will be have strong leadership abilities and will be capable of commanding respect from peers and management.
ADP embraces the Agile Development methodology. The Product Owner will define product backlogs, outline sprint themes, develop user stories and drive multiple sprint teams co-located in Seattle and Pune, India. The Product Owner will work closely with the development organization as well as Product Owner peers in the other Centers of Excellence.
ADP Dealer Services is nearly a $2B entity with industry-leading products and solutions in 90+ countries with big data stored across the division. The product vision is to leverage that data across Dealer Services globally.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owns Global product vision, strategy, backlog, backlog grooming and prioritization. Responsible for creating clarity around product direction
- Definition of advanced, predictive analytic solutions.
- Communication and status to senior management
- Owns the productivity of the development sprint teams
- Responsible to help staff product and development teams, interviewing candidates & making hiring recommendations
- Responsible for mentoring and leading team(s) of other product owners.
Experience, Skills, Academic:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Expert in Agile methodologies
- Ability to manage internal and external client expectations on product requirements and deliverables
- Expert knowledge of modern product management concepts and techniques, especially Agile development methodologies
- Strong writing, mentoring, negotiation, communication, and meeting facilitation skills
- Subject matter expert in Analytics, Data Warehousing and Data Mining
- Skilled requirements analysis and management
- Ability to perform conflict resolution with team members
PREVIOUS SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE
10+ years experience in software Product Management using Agile development methodologies
5+ years experience in analytics, data warehousing, data mining and related fields
Experience with data science, predictive modeling, quantitative / qualitative analytics a big plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical requirements consistent with an office environment
Position requires travel of up to 25%, primarily Portland plus Chicago and other ADP offices and clients sites
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A BA/BS in a business or technical field and an MS in a technical field or an MBA are required.
