The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to shape and lead a new behavioural science unit at Ipsos, based in London but working globally. The leader will lead our existing teams of behavioural researchers, ethnographers and neuroscience experts. The new unit will work across our business lines and countries, being the centre of excellence for the entire Ipsos group, reporting to the head of the UK business. The role will involve:
1. Proposal/pitch ownership and consultancy
2. Project support, advice and direct delivery to clients
3. Best practice/training for staff internally and clients
4. R&D, leading a programme to develop new or improve existing research products, tools or approaches.
5. Networking with external experts to stay on top of new developments in the behavioural sciences
6. Thought Leadership/Profile to develop Ipsos MORI's image as experts by maintaining a media and social media profile, publishing articles, conference presentations etc.
The ideal candidate will
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who has developed a behavioural science business, ideally within a large research company, or across a similarly varied structure, across countries and business lines. They will also have some of the following attributes:
-High profile within behavioural science and track record in applying it to real world marketing and policy problems
-A detailed understanding of the behavioural literature and both mainstream traditions (behavioural economics and social /health psychology)
-Experience of experimental design (and preferably quasi-expt) and understand what that would mean in both a field and lab setting
-Hands-on experience conducting large, preferably global, consumer/social research studies, or experience working with a marketing department on product / communications development / launch.
-An appreciation of the strengths / weaknesses of a wide range of research methods – qualitative, quantitative, mixed method
