Position available: Research Assistant
Are you fascinated by human behaviour? We’re looking for a friendly, analytical individual to join us.
About us
Prime Decision is a strategy and insight consultancy which specialises in applied behavioural science. We help leading companies and charities to identify and influence the measurable behaviours which matter most to them. Our growing client-base includes Red Bull, The Movember Foundation and Toyota.
Our bespoke project teams include academic consultants and behavioural economists, as well as seasoned industry specialists. Some projects are geared towards optimisation, others towards innovation. Besides our strong heritage in digital marketing and customer experience, we are increasingly tasked with challenges like fraud, fundraising and employee behaviour change.
The ideal candidate
You have solid expertise in behavioural science or social psychology. You are likely to possess a masters in behavioural economics, judgment & decision-making or a similar field. Highly numerate, you’re proficient at analysing data and conducting research. You’ve probably been described as a geek, despite having great communication skills.
Focused and methodical in style, you are hungry to apply your academic experience in a commercial context – and although not essential, you may have already gained work experience at a consultancy or agency. A keen follower of trends in digital and mobile behaviours, you have an appetite to explore new tools and data technologies.
While you love working collaboratively, the freedom to work independently appeals to you. You’re looking for a role with intellectual challenge, creativity and variety.
The role
Prime Decision is a young and ambitious company at a crucial stage of its development. You’ll be a valued member of a small team, not a cog in a big machine, so we’ll invest time and resource to ensure that you thrive.
You can expect great opportunities for progression, with scope to evolve the role in line with your talents and ambitions.
You’ll work closely with our lead strategist, providing research and analysis support on a diverse range of client projects, as well as new business and marketing initiatives. As appropriate, you will also be expected to engage directly with clients and academics.
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting desk research and reviewing academic literature
Synthesising a broad range of data sources, analysing potentially large and complex data sets
Planning experiments and randomised controlled trials (RCTs)
Using your knowledge of psychological biases and heuristics to inform client strategy development
Communicating efficiently and harmoniously with partners and clients, helping to ensure the timely delivery of strategy and insight outputs
Assisting with the creation of proposals, presentations and insight reports
Monitoring and evaluating new behavioural research, publications and models, as well as industry best-practices
Curating and sharing relevant content in social media
Authoring marketing content on behavioural economics and related topics
Salary and location
We plan to offer an six-month contract, to be extended into a permanent role in 2015.
Salary is subject to your skills and experience.
We welcome applicants from either Bristol or London. Although our headquarters in Bristol, we’re building our London presence and are supportive of remote working. The position will ideally start in November 2014, although we can be flexible for the right candidate.
To apply, please send a CV and short cover letter to hello@prime-decision.com by 12th October 2014.
